What is Lean, Six Sigma and BPM?
- Lean is a cost saving, common sense approach of continuous process improvement. It focuses on increasing the efficiency and speed of processes and on the elimination of non value added activities or ‘waste’.
- Six Sigma is a continuous process improvement strategy based on careful analysis of the customer requirements and on the use of statistical techniques to identify the factors that have the biggest effect on those customer requirements.
- BPM stands for Business Process Management and is a continuous process improvement approach that focuses on aligning all aspects of an organization with the customer requirements. BPM states that this approach can be supported or enabled through (IT) technology.
Atos Consulting combines these methodologies in a smart and pragmatic way to realize your business targets.
Realizing your business targets with Lean, Six Sigma and BPM
Increasing productivity, realizing growth, generating cash and increasing customer satisfaction are constant business targets for all managers.
Atos Consulting uses trusted Lean, Six Sigma and Business Process Management strategies to help you realize these targets. We apply them using two basic ground rules:
- The first is that we like to keep things simple. We adopt a no nonsense approach that is focused on getting the measurable results that you want to achieve. That is why we will carefully select and combine the simplest, most efficient methods and tools that get the results.
- The second is that we focus on generating money in the short term to finance further improvements. This way you will invest in self-funding solutions that work fast, and continue to impact the bottom line.
We work on three scopes or levels depending on the result that you want to achieve: Problem Solving, Area Optimization or Strategic Transformation.
Scope 1 Problem Solving: I have a concrete process problem
If you just want to fix one problem, we will help you to use Lean, Six Sigma and BPM tools and techniques to do exactly that. One of our experienced Project Managers provides the Lean, Six Sigma and BPM expertise, while a small team of your people supplies operational process knowledge. From experience we know that typically this type of Problem Solving project takes three months to complete and you can expect a return of €250,000.
Scope 2 Area Optimization: One department isn’t performing
If a part of your business faces problems, the cause is often hard to see. Here, Atos Consulting will start by using the Lean, Six Sigma and BPM roadmap and tools to identify and prioritize problems and opportunities. This usually takes between a week and a month.
Next we launch an Area Optimization program, which consists, on average, of five Problem Solving projects. We will train your staff to lead these Problem Solving projects, using the Lean, Six Sigma and BPM methodology and tools.
After the training one Atos Consultant stays on to manage the program and to coach the project managers.
Scope 3 Strategic Transformation: I want a culture change
C-level managers who understand the power of Lean, Six Sigma and BPM may choose to apply a strategic transformation to the complete organization, to achieve a culture change and realize major targets.
To plan the initiative Atos Consulting uses a pre-set planning template that allows us to start a major company-wide change initiative in less than 60 days. This template is based on our change management roadmap, and lets us help you with the detailed planning and the execution of the initiative.
Ultimately Atos Consulting will provide your organization with the skills and the tools to sustain the initiative after we have left. To realize this we will select and train a number of your staff to become coaches who are capable of identifying the right projects and the right people to continuously realize your strategic targets.
